This year Epiphany was celebrated on January 7th, with a visit from the Three Kings (Ed Harris, James Rowe and Patrick Thomas), who donned impressive crowns and sang the solo parts in the famous carol “We Three Kings of Orient Are”. During the service a blessing was chalked on the outer church doors with the initials of the three kings, reading “20 C+ B+ M+ 18”, offering a blessing to all who enter and leave the church throughout the year. The practice is common in parts of Europe, especially in Bavaria and also Belgium.
