THE NEW GREAT TEW CIRCLE – SPRING TALK AND DINNER
Saturday, April 27, 6 o’clock, St Michael and All Angels Great Tew
SIR JOHN HOLMES, GCVO, KBE, CMG – How can we adapt foreign policy to today’s realities?
The current international scene presents some terrible and profoundly worrying situations, from Ukraine to Gaza. Other under-reported crises such as that in Sudan are worsening, with little apparent hope in sight. The international community seems unable to get to grips with resolving these problems. Poor relations between the major powers leave international institutions such as the UN almost powerless, and humanitarian aid is struggling to keep pace with need, even where it is not obstructed. How did we get here, and what can we do better in the future? And where might the UK best fit in, and contribute effectively?
Talk followed by drinks £15, talk and dinner £25. Students (over 16) free. For tickets contact [email protected] by 22 April
