If you are planning to get married, congratulations!

Churches have always been special places for weddings and each of our churches offers a beautiful setting for the service.

If you live in one of the parishes you have an automatic right to be married in the local parish church. If not there are many other ways you can qualify for a church wedding:

  • If one of you has lived in the parish for six months
  • If you were baptised at one of the churches
  • If you have attended one of the churches regularly over a six month period
  • If one of your parents has a close connection with one of the churches or was married there

We will work with you to explain the options and are always ready to help you to fulfil the necessary legal requirements. Please phone, email or speak to us after one of the weekly services to talk through what you would like to do.

If you are getting married in a registry office, or have been legally married overseas you may want to consider a Wedding Blessing. This is very similar to the traditional wedding ceremony and there are no legal requirements for eligibility.

We are able to assist with arranging music, organists, choirs and bell ringers to make the service a happy and memorable occasion.

Please speak to Revd William Burke [email protected] or Kate, the Benefice Administrator [email protected] before committing to a date as there may be events already planned up to a year ahead.
